Monster Bash 2008

The 6th annual Monster Bash is only 4 weeks away. If you aren’t familiar with Monster Bash, let me endulge you. Halloween has always been my favorite holiday growing up, and when I was old enough to get into the Boston Night Clubs for their  so called Halloween Party, I was nothing but disappointed. After many years as a local DJ, entertaining others at their Halloween parties, the transition from entertainer to host was a smooth one.

My goal for Monster Bash was to create an atmosphere similar to that of a house party, but on a much larger scale. I wanted to have a fun place that was just a room full of friends, and friends of friends, with no attitudes. Similar to a house party ar Halloween, I wanted to decorate the venue like a haunted house. In year one I borrowed some haunted house props from one that closed. Over the years I have aquired my own collection of halloween props. I now have a small collection of skeletons, ghosts, ghouls, and my favorite Chuckles the Clown.

Monster Bash has successfully filled our venue to capacity every year since inception. Thats 300 + people coming out for a great Halloween party. I have a few fundamental rules that I follow to a successful event.

  • Hire a great DJ (I use a personal Friend Mike D of Makin’ Entertainment)
  • Lights (Every DJ needs a great lightshow for the complete nightclub effect)
  • Decorations (table cloths, balloons, props, etc. to set the tone for the theme)
  • Contests (We run a costume contest and give away $500 cash)
  • Get Help (I could not have done all this myself, enlist friends)

With the basic guidelines above along with alot of time promoting it Monster Bash is on it’s 6th year.  As usual we will be adding a few new surprises this year.

Las Vegas :: Bachelor Party

I just got back from a 4 day adventure to my favorite city… Las Vegas. I have always wanted to go to a bachelor party in the city of sin, but the opportunity never arose. I had to take matters into my own hands… I let it be known Las Vegas was the destination of choice, and the descision was made.

A group of 12 of us made the trip to America’s playground, and with a group of guys that size, there was never a shortage of debauchery. I have a few friends that live in Vegas, and one in peticular came through HUGE with the hook-ups. We got into Thursday nights hottest nightclub Tryst without waiting in the long line… this place is incredible, complete with a stripper pole in the middle of the VIP lounge, and waterfall outside. The details of Friday and Saturday night are a little fuzzy by way of lack of sleep and excessive alcohol consumption. The culmination of the weekend was a VIP cabana @ Rehab, a pool party like no other. I cannot find words to give this place justice, on Sundays from 11am-7pm the Hard Rock hotel pool is transformed into an ultra pool party, with celebrities, models, and the occasional nobody like myself all out with one goal… to PARTY!
